Kasabian frontman afraid of acting

It has been revealed by Tom Meighan that acting alone is very much difficult than performing with band memeber.

Latest acting role was one of the scariest things he's ever done,said the frontman singere

He plays a bodyguard in a new sitcom about wrestling called Walk Like a Panther and despite his hard man image, the lad from Leicester was scared witless.

He told Q magazine that while he enjoyed the experience he felt nervous as soon as he was on set and confessed that the experience "was more nerve-racking than playing Glastonbury".


Tickets for Kasabian's summer festival appearances can be booked now, but further acting roles are yet to be announced.

KASABIAN'S TOM MEIGHAN ACCEPTS ACTING ROLE

Kasabian lead singer Tom Meighan has been hired as one of the starring roles in the pilot of a new comedy drama called ‘Walk Like A Panther’.

Currently Tome Meighan discussion for screening rights are still ongoing so whether the show ever sees our TV screens is uncertain.

Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire), Sean Pertwee (Dog Soldiers) and Ian Mercer (Coronation Street) are the actors also to appear on the show.

Kasabian fan will be happy to listen this isn’t a permanent career change however and is something he sees more as a bit of fun and a way to fulfil an ambition while taking a break from working on the bands fourth studio album, expected to be released in September 2011. ‘Kasabian and the music comes first. It’s my life, my blood’.

Kasabian are playing a series of festivals this summer including Rockness, Isle of Wight and BBK Bilbao. Details of the new album and any promotional tour will be posted on Stereoboard.com as soon as they emerge.

Kasabian scheduled to play Bilbao BBK Live

To the line up of Spanish festival Bilbao BBK,Kasabian name has been added to it.

Bilbao BBK has already pulled off two major exclusives, returning for another instalment.The Spanish festival is ready to host a rare European performance from Amy Winehouse, with the troubled singer due to appear live.

Coldplay has been set for the headline gig of the festival,With details of the bill yet to be confirmed, festival organisers have announced some of new names on the line up.

Kasabian are due to appear, adding Bilbao BBK to their summer schedule. Currently working on a new album, the band's frontman Tom Meighan has also confirmed his involvement in a new sitcom.

Kasabian new album roadtest on intimate spring UK tour

Tom Meighan revealed to a source that he band will roadtest new material on an 'intimate' spring UK tour.

Mid-sized venues will be played by the bands revealed Tom,"We're going to go back on the road in April or May, and we're going to be doing the small shows again – 1,000, 2,000 people a night," he revealed in the latest issue of NME.

To start recording the follow-up to latest album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum',band will move towards studio next month and by the time gigs will move along and they will include new material in their set.

"I think we'll play two or three new songs," he said. "Serge [Pizzorno, guitarist] has written a song we can end on now apart from 'LSF' too. Maybe that's just me putting my balls on the table, but I hope we can do that."

Meanwhile, Meighan said he was "gobsmacked" to learn that Kasabian have been nominated in the Best British Band and Best Live Band categories in the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011, adding that being up for the prizes is "a fucking honour".
