Kasabian new album roadtest on intimate spring UK tour

Tom Meighan revealed to a source that he band will roadtest new material on an 'intimate' spring UK tour.

Mid-sized venues will be played by the bands revealed Tom,"We're going to go back on the road in April or May, and we're going to be doing the small shows again – 1,000, 2,000 people a night," he revealed in the latest issue of NME.

To start recording the follow-up to latest album 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum',band will move towards studio next month and by the time gigs will move along and they will include new material in their set.

"I think we'll play two or three new songs," he said. "Serge [Pizzorno, guitarist] has written a song we can end on now apart from 'LSF' too. Maybe that's just me putting my balls on the table, but I hope we can do that."

Meanwhile, Meighan said he was "gobsmacked" to learn that Kasabian have been nominated in the Best British Band and Best Live Band categories in the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011, adding that being up for the prizes is "a fucking honour".
