Serge Pizzorno of Kasabian desired the next Kasabian album to have the similar "wow" factor as Radiohead's OK Computer.
He hopes the follow-up to 2009's West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum matches the impact of the Oxford band's third LP,the singer told to NME.
Pizzorno said: "Not necessarily the sound, but OK Computer as a record that just makes you go, 'wow'.
"I want to aim for something that's as incredible as that - just the feeling of being blown away that you get from that."
He added: "I just want people to f**king come away from it going, 'Yep, great album. It's different, I love this. Let's go see it live. Thank you'. Then off we go again."
Kasabian headline this year's RockNess and Isle of Wight festivals.
